Interested in WWII Era, well then this is a good find. The World War II Victory Medal (WWIIVM) is presented to all members of the U.S. military who served in active duty or as a reserve during the period of December 7, 1941 - December 31, 1946. Authorized by Act of Congress on July 6, 1945. There is not a length of service requirement for this award. The red center stripe of the ribbon is symbolic of Mars, the God of War, representing both courage and fortitude. The twin rainbow stripes, suggested by the World War I Victory Medal, allude to the peach following a storm. A narrow white stripe separates the center red stripe from each rainbow pattern on both sides of the ribbon. Great addition to any anybody's collection.
