"Don Miguel Gregorio Antonio Ignacio Hidalgo-Costilla y Gallaga Mandarte Villaseñor; 8 May 1753 – 30 July 1811, more commonly known as Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla or simply Miguel Hidalgo, was a Mexican Roman Catholic priest and a leader of the Mexican War of Independence."
1954 Mintage was stopped due to inflation which mean the next year the 10 Peso coin would be the exact same size as this one, so to prevent confusion it was decided to not release that year anymore to wait a year for the "5-Peso-size" 10 Peso coin to appear.
This coin has been sitting in our safe for the last 50+ years. Tested with magnets and found to be a fake.
